Disclaimer: Case Limitations, Scope of Representation, and Professional Qualifications
At Shawn Taylor, PLLC, doing business as Shawn Taylor, Your Social Security Lawyer, we value the trust clients place in our firm and are committed to clarity about the services we provide. Our practice is devoted to representing individuals in Social Security Disability matters nationwide, including initial claims, reconsiderations, hearings before Administrative Law Judges, and requests for review filed with the Appeals Council.
Please note that our firm does not accept Continuing Disability Review (CDR) cases,
Social Security overpayment cases, or appeals from the Appeals Council to the United States District Court.
Social Security overpayment cases, or appeals from the Appeals Council to the United States District Court.
A Continuing Disability Review (CDR) is a periodic evaluation conducted by the Social Security Administration to determine whether a person who is already receiving disability benefits remains medically eligible.
An overpayment case arises when the Social Security Administration determines that a person has received more benefits than they were entitled to and seeks repayment.
An Appeals Council appeal is the highest administrative level within the SSA. Federal court appeals following an unfavorable Appeals Council decision involve a separate process governed by the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure and fall outside our scope of representation.
These matters require specialized handling and are best addressed by attorneys or organizations experienced in those areas. If you need help with a CDR, overpayment issue, or federal court appeal, we encourage you to contact your local Legal Aid office, your state bar association’s lawyer referral service, or the National Organization of Social Security Claimants’ Representatives (NOSSCR) at www.nosscr.org for assistance and possible representation.
